Orissa High Court DEO Syllabus for Section A: Preliminary Examination

Section A is a preliminary examination worth 150 points in accordance with the graduation subject. The disciplines are General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. The total time applicable is two hours. Let’s look at some of its specific points.

  1. There will be 150 objective-type questions with multiple choice answers.
  2. Each incorrect answer will result in a 0.5-mark deduction.

This test assesses a candidate’s knowledge of both English and Odia. This test has a total of 100 marks and lasts two hours. The marks obtained in this Language Test will not be taken into account when calculating the final score. The marks division for each topic in this test is listed below.

Orissa High Court DEO Syllabus for Section D: Main Written Examination

This test will assess candidates’ typing speed. This is also known as a Typewriting Test in English. The Main Written Examination is the final exam before the viva voce. The exam has a total of 100 marks. Let’s have a look at some of the details.

  1. The test will last 10 minutes, and candidates must type from a printed document.
  2. The content will be roughly 400 words long, with a speed of 40 words per minute.
  3. Each error in the typed script will result in a deduction of one mark. Missing words will be viewed as an error.
  4. Candidates whose scripts include more than 20 errors will be disqualified.

Orissa High Court DEO Syllabus for Final Section: Viva-voce

The marks obtained by the candidates in the Viva-Voce Test shall be added to the marks obtained by him/her in the Main Written Examination (Typewriting Test in English) to determine the total marks obtained by him/her, and the names of the candidates shall be arranged in order of merit on the basis of such total marks. The total score for this test is 20. Candidates’ names will not be included in the Merit List if they score less than 40% in the Viva-Voce Test.
