Odisha Govt Challenged Orissa High Court’s rejection of OSEPA list
A single judge panel led by Justice BP Satapathy had earlier on March 12 annulled the draft merit list that the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) had released on January 15, 2024. This is because of the challenges received from a number of rejected candidates. Judge Satapathy ruled that the state government’s stance—which maintains that merit is the only factor considered when choosing teachers and this is unacceptable because it violates the guidelines outlined in Subparagraph 8.3 of the Resolution. The judge also ordered OSEPA to create a new draft merit list that complies with the resolution from August 22, 2023.
