The CSIR NET Eligibility 2024 has been declared through the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) website. The candidates appearing for the CSIR NET examination must meet the eligibility parameters to be considered for the selection process. The aspirant’s maximum age limit will vary for the Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship. Although, the candidates must be up to 30 years of age to be eligible for the JRF. CSIR NET Age Limit 2024

All the aspirants who want to appear for the NET exam must check the eligible age limit whether they are appearing for Junior Research Fellowship or for Lectureship. For both the positions the age limit will vary. The maximum age requirement for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) must be between 30 years. If the candidate is appearing for lecturership then there is no upper age limit required. Moreover, no upper age limit is required for Joint CSIR-UGC-NET for Admission to PhD as well. There will be an age relaxation preference for the reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC and women which will be up to 5 years for upper age limit. CSIR NET Educational Qualification 2024

All the aspirants must note the minimum educational qualification requirement for the CSIR NET exam. Only the candidates possessing all the necessary qualifications will be eligible to apply for the exam. 

  • The candidates must be a Master degree holder in Science (MSc) or equivalent. Their qualification must be in the subject they wish to pursue research in.
  • All the applicants who are appearing for their final year of MSc or equivalent degree will also be eligible. They can apply under the “Result Awaited (RA)” category. To be eligible for the entitlement for the award, they must finish their degree. They will have a two-year validity term given by CSIR NET.
  • Candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech), Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharma), or Master of Technology (MTech) will also be eligible depending on the subject specialization.
  • All the candidates who have done B.Sc (Hons) or equivalent degree and currently are enrolled in an Integrated MS-Ph.D programme with a minimum score of 55 percent (50 percent for SC/ST/PWD) are also eligible to take the exam.
  • The candidates who belong to reserved categories such as SC/ST and PWD must have secured a  minimum of 50% marks in M.Sc. or equivalent degree / Integrated BS-MS / BS-4 years / BE / B. Tech / B. Pharma / MBBS.

All the applicants must be Indian citizens. They must be able to provide valid ID proofs for verification purposes.

Important Points To Remember

  • The candidates from other nationalities cannot apply for the position.
  • The candidates can apply as many times for the position until the desirable age limit is not exceeded. There is no limit to the number of attempts.
