UPPSC BEO Syllabus for Mains
The main test is a full-length written paper. It contains two obligatory papers: 1. General Studies. 2. General Hindi and essays. Each paper will be 3 hours long, with a total of 400 marks. The general study paper questions will be divided into three categories.
- Section A will comprise ten questions with general answers, each worth ten marks. The word limit for each answer will be 125.
- Section B will consist of ten short-answer questions, each worth six points. The word limit for each response is 50.
- Section C will include 20 questions with extremely brief responses worth two points each. The word limit for each response is 25.
The general Hindi and essay papers will be divided into two halves.
- The first component will be 100 points for general Hindi.
- The second section will be 100 for Hindi essays.

UPPSC BEO Exam Pattern 2024
Candidates aspiring to appear for the UPPSC BEO must first complete the preliminary examination. Those who achieve the minimal cut-off marks in the preliminary exams will be eligible for the main examination.
UPPSC BEO Exam Pattern for Prelims
The preliminary test is worth 300 marks and will consist of MCQ-based objective-type questions. The total number of questions is 120, and the length is two hours. The preliminary test will include only one General Studies paper. The preliminary examination is only qualifying, no additional marks will be added from here on out.
UPPSC BEO Exam Pattern for Mains
- Those who pass the preliminary exam will be considered eligible for the main examination.
- The main examination will consist of two papers, i.e., General Studies, General Hindi, and Essays.
- The UPPSC BEO Main Exam Pattern is an offline written examination.
- The general Hindi and essay papers will have two sections. The first section will be 100 marks for general Hindi, while the second section will be 100 marks for Hindi essays
