Odisha State Government Declares Requirement of  More than 2000 Jail Wards 

There are 87 jails in the state of Odisha. Out of the 2100 wards, all the jails in the state, have 1500, which is only 30% of the wards, and they are now unoccupied.The state government has issued 290 directives in less than two years, yet none of them have been carried out as of yet. The Brahampur Jail has just 100 wards; Anchadi requires 175 wards; Baripada Jail requires 60 wards; Jharpada Jail in Bhubaneswar requires 165 wards, however there are actually only 458 wards there. The lack of wards is the primary concern.  The state government wants to improve the security in the jails at the grassroot level and for that there is a need to fill the vacant positions of Jail Warders and create enough Wards as well.  Check Official Notice PDF here!
