What does the Numbers Say?

The NDA Government has a leading position in at least 228 seats, according to the latest numbers. The BJP-led NDA stands at 297 and is slowly approaching the 300-mark, despite fierce rivalry. As the opponent Congress leader Rahul Gandhi continues to lead in both Wayanad and Rae Bareli with a victory margin of 3.64 lakh votes. In Raebareli, he won total seats with 6,87,649 votes. This says that According to EC data, BJP has been declared the winner in 190 seats and Congress in 73, with counting over in 397 seats. TMC won in 20 and the Samajwadi Party in 30.

However, the BJP leads in 56 seats and the Congress in 27. On the other hand, the Samajwadi Party in 7, and the TMC in 9 more seats.

Who won in 2019 Lok Sabha polls?

A clear majority of voters restored the BJP-led NDA government to office on May 23, 2019, the day the results of the previous general elections were declared. The UPA won 93 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, while the NDA won 353 seats. 52 were won by the Congress and 303 by the BJP out of these.

The Returning Officer of each constituency will present a certificate of election to the victorious candidate prior to this crucial moment. In accordance with the Election Commission’s requirements, the candidate will sign an acknowledgment of receipt for the certificate. After this that will then be quickly sent by registered post to the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha.

Following this protocol, the Election Commission will furnish a comprehensive roster of the elected MPs to the President, thereby initiating the procedural framework for the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha. 

Opposition Hails in Uttar Pradesh in 2024

The striking rate, which is the proportion of seats that a party or alliance wins over all the seats that are contested, provides some interesting numbers. The strike rate for the BJP-led NDA is 54%, compared to 43% for the INDIA alliance. As of 4.15 pm, the Congress-Samajwadi Party coalition surged ahead, leading on 43 seats. However, the BJP-Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) alliance trails with 37 seats.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP secured a resounding victory in Uttar Pradesh. They have captured 62 out of 80 seats, with its ally Apna Dal clinching two seats. The Samajwadi Party (SP) managed to secure only five seats, while the Congress was limited to a solitary seat.
