India Post GDS 4th Merit List 2026

The Indian Post Department is getting ready to release the 4th merit list for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment 2026. This recruitment drive aims to fill 28,636 vacancies for posts like Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) across the country.

If your name did not appear in the first three lists, there is still hope. The 3rd merit list was published on May 11, and its document verification process wrapped up on May 26. Usually, the postal department releases the next list about 13 to 15 days after the previous document verification ends. Therefore, candidates can expect the 4th merit list to be out very soon, likely between June 9 and June 16, 2026.

Selection Process and Salary

This recruitment does not have any written exam or interview. Selections are purely based on your Class 10 board marks. Since the competition is high, the cutoff percentages remain tough, generally ranging between 80% to 95% depending on your category and state circle.

If selected, the starting monthly salary for a BPM post is between ₹12,000 and ₹29,380. For ABPM and Dak Sevak posts, the salary ranges from ₹10,000 to ₹24,470.

Documents Verification

Once your name appears on the 4th list, you will get 15 days to complete your document verification at your allotted head post office. You must bring the original copies and two self-attested photocopies of the following:

  • Class 10 Marksheet
  • Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, etc.)
  • Caste or EWS Certificate (if applicable)
  • Medical Fitness Certificate
  • Passport-size Photographs

Note: If you fail to verify your documents within the given deadline, your selection will be canceled directly.
